Hi, Welcome back to Rusty Reviews. This is the second post, and this time around we're reviewing another three games. These three games this week cover a vareity of genres, and are unique in their own way. So lets get into it!
First we have Pixel, an asteroids style shooter game, based around pixels. At the start of the game you choose a ship. Each ship has a slightly different firing pattern, giving a slightly different gameplay experience for each ship. You then embark on a journey to destory numerous waves of funny looking things. When you kill something, it explodes into a few colourful pixels. If you collect these pixels, you gain HP and your ship spews it's own destrorying pixels which can destroy enemies.
This gives it a slightly different element of gameplay. You can destory large groups of enemies with one bullet, and it's this mechanic that kind of makes the game a cross between Asteroids and Chain Reaction. It's fun over all though, and I played it through a few times.
Next is Upgrade Complete, the game where you have to upgrade EVERYTHING, you even have to upgrade the pre-loader, so you can then get to the menu.
See? I told you! Then you have to upgrade that so you can get to the game part of the game. In which you must upgrade the game itself, including the graphics, and inside the game you must upgrade your ship. It's obviously a parody of these ugprade games, but it works well, and really wasn't worth the ending I got. But it was a fun, entertaining and upgrading journey, if not a little pointless.
Last this week is Photo King. To become a photo king you must take photos of different things at the right point in time. If the things are smiling, happy, or have weird rabbits coming out of their heads, you get more points.
It's fun to play, but it's not something you'd come back to over and over again. Sometimes trying to tickle weird looking rabbits or whatever just so they will smile isn't that fun. In-fact I think a lot of people would call it weird. Or Japanese. Also the game likes to pretend it is for Wii, don't ask me why.
It gets especially frustrating when there are about fifteen bi-polar rabbits on screen that have to all be smiling at the same time.
That's it for this week. Check back later for more.
